Site Of The Day - Tiltshiftmaker.com

I received a great fun site in an email that blurs portions on a photograph. This would be ideal in landscapes. I tried it with a flower photograph. I wanted to see what result I would get using this site. My photo was 100% clear. Now you can see the leaves are blurred. You can only choose bands of the photograph to stay in focus but it is a fun little site to play with. Check it out.

Fun with tilt-shift photography

Unless you're an avid photographer, you've probably never heard of tilt-shift lenses. That's too bad; these lenses are amazing.
Tilt-shift lenses are commonly used by architectural photographers. They can eliminate perspective in photos. They can also alter the plane of focus.
Altering the plane of focus can leave a portion of an image in focus. The rest of the photo is blurry.

Changing the plane of focus produces a surprising effect. Objects in the picture often don't look lifelike. Rather, they look like miniatures.
Recently, a lot of photo enthusiasts have been experimenting with tilt-shift photography. You may have seen some of their work on the Internet.
Now for the bad news. Tilt-shift lenses are costly, with prices starting around $1,000.

Fortunately, you don't need a tilt-shift lens. You can use software like Photoshop to mimic the effect.
Or, you can simply visit today's Cool Site.

You start by uploading a photo. Then, select the area of the photo to be in focus. You can download the finished photo in seconds!
Now, the tilt-shift effect works best with certain types of images. You can browse through the photo gallery to get some ideas.
